We’re open! …Mostly.

The City and State have given the green light for restaurants to reopen with restrictions, and here we are! Since capacity is extremely limited and since this situation is unprecedented and did not come with any best practices, we ask that you PLEASE bear with us as we do our best to see each and every one of you. Just not all at once.

We have only 4 tables that will seat a maximum of 6 people each.

Our Reservations Policy:

Monday – Thursday
No reservations.
First come first served. We ask that you respect those behind you and limit your visits to 1hr 45min max, and you must order food

Friday – Sunday
Accepting Reservations
Please call 847-834-9629 between 12noon and 7pm to place your reservation (if you call after 7pm we will get back to you next day)
Parties can be 4 to 6 people, but we must charge a $25 fee if one of your party does not arrive
Reservations are for  1hr 45min before 5pm, and 2hrs after 5pm
Every guest must order food
Walk-ins are welcome if there is availability and when space permits

Once again, this is new to us too. There are bound to be some hiccups, so please bear with us.
We will be cleaning and sanitizing every area between each seating, and using a combination of disposable and digital menus.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We can’t wait to see you again!

A Message from Butch McGuire’s

“My friends, we cannot tolerate or turn a blind eye to racism and exclusion in any form and yet claim to defend the sacredness of every human life.”  – Pope Francis

At Butch McGuire’s we have one value that we hold most dear – family. To us the term “family” has never strictly meant blood but has always extended to our staff, our partners, our community, and the entire human race. In our view, we are ALL one family. Some of our family members, People of Color, especially our Black family members are hurting, the pain is raw and real, and while some of us can never fully understand it, we can all look at a senseless act of racist violence and be appalled. We can understand and share the anger and pain, even if some of us cannot fathom its depths. When our family hurts… WE hurt.

We support the peaceful protests for justice for George Floyd and those countless others who have fallen to racism.

Family will always be our deepest value. We re-commit to treating every single one of our family members and every human being we encounter with love, kindness, grace, respect, dignity, and above all else – equality.

We are calling for donations that will go directly, and fully (100% – we are doing this at cost) to making meals for our brave men and women in the Chicago Fire, Police and Medical departments.

#InThisTogether – Our Response to Covid-19

#InThisTogether – Response to Covid-19 – updated regularly
Currently, all dine-in business is prohibited to help curb the spread of Covid-19. However, all restaurants and taverns that sell food are still open for order pick-up and delivery – if they so choose. We do choose. Our commitment has always been to our customers, staff, and community and by staying open in this way, everyone benefits. That’s our thinking.

Butch McGuire’s will be open for pick-up and delivery Mondays through Fridays 11am – 9pm and Saturdays and Sundays 9am – 9pm.

We take the health of our staff and patrons very seriously and are redoubling our already high standards for safety and sanitation, as well as taking additional steps to provide quality and healthy service. Those steps include, but are not limited to:

  • Keeping up to date with advice and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO)
  • We are redoubling our already high standards of cleanliness including sanitizing the kitchen, restroom, and table surfaces after each use.
  • Handwashing and staff hygiene is being strictly enforced.
  • Mandating that any staff who feel unwell or show cold or flu-like symptoms stay home.
  • Disallowing all personal contact within Butch’s, including shaking hands. Elbow bump people. Elbow bump!

We are still a family run, independent restaurant , and we want to continue our ability to help our staff and community. Obviously, we are monitoring this as closely as anyone.

If you wish to help us remotely, because we are your favorite neighborhood saloon, we encourage you to use

or put some karma in the bank by purchasing a Gift Card.

Please stay home if you are feeling unwell.

We hope our customers will all be healthy, happy, productive and safe!

#ctuactstrike – What We Are Doing for the Teachers Strike

October 21st, 2019 Posted by Special Offers 0 thoughts on “#ctuactstrike – What We Are Doing for the Teachers Strike”

We all had that one teacher (or maybe several) that really made a difference in our education, or in the life of someone we love. Butch had many.

We know that the CTU Strike is tough on everyone in the community – teachers, students, and parents alike. So we hope to provide a little relief for everyone to have a good meal, or a decompressing beverage after a long day with kids at home or on the picket lines.

That’s why THIS WEEK ONLY (Tuesday, Oct 21 – Friday, Oct 25) we are offering 20% off of your bill, with food purchase, for any CPS Teachers, staff, or students! Parents, bring the kids by for a nice lunch and get ’em out of the house. Teachers we know this is tough – come and warm up and relax!

Please provide a teacher or student ID and ask your server about the special.
